Man arrested after smashing into cruisers

Man in red truck seemed to be trying to escape police pursuit

A man was arrested after smashing into police cruisers in an apparent attempt to flee.

On Tuesday, at about 8 p.m., Surrey RCMP followed what they believed was a stolen red pickup truck to the Dairy Queen at 94A Avenue and King George Boulevard.

The truck pulled around and smashed into police cruisers in an apparent attempt to escape their pursuit.

No one was injured in the crashes.

The 24-year-old Surrey resident jumped from the truck and was arrested a block or two away.

Police are considering charges including possession of a stolen vehicle, fleeing from police and reckless driving.
