Minor injuries in alleged Surrey assault

Police say an imitation firearm was recovered near the scene of an alleged assault.

Police responding to the 6100-block of 146 Street around 11 p.m. Monday located a woman with minor injuries. An imitation firearm was located nearby.


One woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries following a report of a disturbance in the 6100-block of 146 Street Monday evening.

Several police officers as well as paramedics responded to the scene around 11 p.m.; one woman was seen escorted into an ambulance.

Surrey RCMP Cpl. Scotty Schumann said Tuesday that police had been advised of an alleged assault, and that officers located an imitation firearm nearby.

Evidence was seized and the investigation is ongoing, Schumann said.
