Delta police say a missing man, the subject of an urgent call for public help Monday morning, has died.
On Dec. 9, police asked residents in North Delta's Sunstone neighbourhood and surrounding area to check their yards, sheds and cars for an injured missing man.
Police said the 21-year-old man, identified only as Tajas, had left a home on foot at about 3:40 a.m. that morning wearing only underwear and with a "significant injury."
In an update Tuesday afternoon, police said Tajas had been located and had passed away.
They said hs death is not considered suspicious, adding no further information will be released.
"Our thoughts are with Tajas’s family and friends during this difficult time, and we extend our deepest condolences for their loss," Acting Insp. James Sandberg, public affairs manager for the Delta Police Department, said in a press release.
"Thank you to our community who provided help in looking for Tajas, including the public, as well as partner agencies South Fraser Search and Rescue, Delta Engineering, and Vodasafe."
