One man to hospital, two sought following altercation in White Rock

Attack was targeted, police say

One man is in hospital and police are searching for two others following an altercation at a home in White Rock Monday.

Const. Chantal Sears said police were alerted around 2 p.m. to a fight in progress near Stayte Road and Buena Vista Avenue.

Officers arrived to find a 24-year-old man suffering from head injuries and bleeding profusely from a deep laceration to his arm. They provided first aid until firefighters and paramedics arrived.

Sears said Tuesday that the men involved are all known to each other, and that the attack was targeted.

As of Peace Arch News press deadline Tuesday morning, she did not know if a weapon had been recovered.

“We’re still at the scene collecting evidence,” she said. “There’s two officers there now. Police tape’s been up all night.”

The victim’s injuries are described as non-life-threatening and police do not believe the public is at risk.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to call the detachment at 778-593-3600 or contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or www.solvecrime.ca
