Nearly 500 guests gathered at White Rock's Centennial Arena Saturday night to Paint the Town Red for ER at the 2014 Partners in Caring Gala benefiting Peace Arch Hospital.

The black-tie affair was emceed by Bard on The Beach's Christopher Gaze and raised a staggering $250,000 – including two anonymous donations of $50,000 and $30,000 – in support of the hospital's emergency room.

"Our wonderful community recognizes and appreciates the need for quality healthcare, close to home," PAH foundation director Jackie Smith said in a release. "Each year, I am genuinely touched by the spirit of giving that exists at our gala, and this year was no exception."

A 25-person steering committee worked for more than six months to prepare for the event and 70 volunteers lent their support on event night.
