Police hunt for Surrey man after senior attacked

Vancouver police are hunting for a Surrey man after a senior was violently attacked early Sunday morning in that city.

Police are searching for Surrey’s Kenneth Nolan Kirton, 45, after an intruder entered the home of a 73-year-old woman in the 1500 block of Adanac Street on Sunday about 3:30 a.m.

The senior was stabbed several times, then the man fled the apartment. The woman was able to make her way to a neighbour’s apartment to call 911. She is now recovering in hospital.

Kirton is aboriginal, 5’5”, with a thin build. He has short black hair, brown eyes and a scar on the bridge of his nose. He has a tattoo of “LOVE” on his left fingers.  Anyone who sees Kirton is asked to not approach him and to call 911 immediately.

Kirton is wanted on a warrant for attempted murder, robbery and failing to comply with an undertaking. He is known to police and often frequents the Downtown Eastside.
