Police incident in South Surrey’s Grandview Corners

Police were called to the northeast corner of 160 Street and 24 Avenue in South Surrey this morning.

An argument between two people led police to the corner of 160 Street and 24 Avenue in South Surrey this morning.

Cpl. Scotty Schumann said a concerned witness alerted police just before 8 a.m.

Motorists in the area shortly after saw a white van stopped at an angle in the intersection, its driver-side door open, and an officer with a handcuffed man seated on the sidewalk outside Coast Capital Savings. A woman who appeared to also be handcuffed was also seen.

Schumann said police detained the driver of one vehicle for investigation; a second person who was not in the vehicle was also detained.

Both individuals were released without charges, he said.
