Surrey RCMP are asking for public assistance in finding the car that struck a man in Guildford on Tuesday night.

Police are looking for the driver of a hit-and-run vehicle that left a man the broken legs this week.

On Tuesday at about 9:30 p.m., police were called to a man struck in the 10500-block 150 Street.

A man was crossing the street, when it's believed a southbound red sports car, possibly a red Chevy Cavalier struck the 24-year-old Surrey man.

He was not at marked crosswalk. It's unclear whether speed or alcohol were factors in the accident.

The pedestrian was taken to hospital where he's being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police are hoping someone out there may have seen the accident and are able to offer any more details.

If you have any information regarding the accident, call the Surrey RCMP non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 or to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or leave a tip on www.solvecrime.ca.
