Police are asking for public assistance in identifying who may have been responsible for a huge fire in Kennedy Heights earlier this year.
At 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 2, fire crews responded to reports of a large structure fire at Forest Hill Plaza in the 8300-block 120 Street.
The fire was so extensive, the exact cause of the fire could not be determined, however, it is classified as suspicious. The fire is believed to have started in the basement of the complex, where several businesses stored their merchandise.
It took 13 fire trucks and 50 firefighters four hours to put the fire out.
Damage is estimated in the millions of dollars.
While there were no injuries as a direct result of the fire, a utility worker at the site fell and broke his arm.
Since the start of the investigation Surrey RCMP Major Crime Section has reviewed video surveillance footage, collected forensic evidence, and spoken to area businesses and residents. Currently, there are no suspects and the investigation is still ongoing.
