A pregnant woman and her toddler were taken to hospital after a collision Friday with a Delta Police cruiser.
Delta Police Sgt. Sarah Swallow said an officer was responding to an assault call and was driving north on Scott Road when a car turned in front of him at 80 Avenue.
The crash took place at about 3:30 p.m.
The expectant mother and her three-year-old were taken to hospital as a precaution, as was the police officer, but were released without serious injury.
Because a police officer was involved, the Independent Investigations Office (IIO) of B.C. was contacted, but will not be taking on the case as it does not fall under its investigative requirements.
