Rock legend Paul Rodgers now a Canadian citizen

Annual ceremony in Surrey welcomes 100 new Canadians from 30 countries.

Paul RodgersSinger songwriter Paul Rodgers of bands such as The Firm, Bad Company, and Queen, accepted his Canadian citizenship at a Canadian Citizenship Week annual ceremony Friday morning at Central City.

Rodgers – who lives in the Crescent Beach area of South Surrey –  also led the group in the singing of the Canadian anthem.

More than 100 new citizens from 30 different countries took part in the annual ceremony.
