Surrey RCMP members and their public safety partners gathered Monday afternoon at B.C. RCMP Headquarters at Green Timbers in Surrey for a memorial march for slain Alberta RCMP Const. David Wynn.

RCMP Const. David Wynn service Wynn, 42, died last Wednesday, four days after he and auxiliary Const. Derek Bond were shot during a struggle with a suspected car thief at a casino in St. Albert, Alta. Wynn was shot in the head and never regained consciousness before he died.

The shooter, career criminal Shawn Rehn, killed himself hours later.

Surrey's march – which took place after a regimental funeral for Wynn in St. Albert that drew thousands – was followed by the laying of wreaths at the Peace Officer Memorial.

The RCMP in B.C. also sent an official delegation to St. Albert for the fallen officer's service.
