Students at Semiahmoo Secondary were evacuated Wednesday afternoon due to a suspected gas leak.
According to Doug Strachan, the school district's spokesman, the precaution was taken after someone reported smelling gas just after 2 p.m.
Surrey firefighters were on the scene to investigate.
Students were sent outside to fields on either side of the high school, which is located in the 1800-block of 148 Street.
They were allowed back inside just before 3 p.m.
