Police and ambulance crews speak with a woman who was hit in the face with bear spray Wednesday night.

A carjacker armed with a can of bear spray remains on the loose, and Mounties are hunting for him and the last car he stole.

An Asian man first approached another man in the 14900-block of 108 Avenue at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday. He shot bear spray at the victim, but was unable to steal his car.

Ten minutes later, a man of the same description approached a woman as she was getting out of her car in the 10500-block of 150 Street.

He asked her for her keys, and she refused. He then turned a medium-sized can of bear spray on her and shot her in the face with it. He took her keys and made off with her car.

Police are looking for an Asian man in his 30s, 5'8" with a medium build.

The vehicle he took is a blue, Hyundai Accent, with a B.C. licence plate 705 SMR.

Anyone who sees the man is asked not to approach him, but to call Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
