Accused wife killer Harbans Pandher looked toward people he knew in a Surrey courtroom Wednesday (Dec. 3) and placed his hands together in front of his chest in a prayer position before being led back to jail.

The frail-looking 67-year-old, wearing red prison garb, with a grey beard and dishevelled grey hair pulled up into a small bun, appeared in court only briefly, listening to the proceedings through an interpreter.

On the afternoon of Nov. 23, Pandher's 64-year-old wife was found dead in a home on 152 Street near 69 Avenue. Pandher was charged with second-degree murder the next day.

His next court date is Dec. 17.
