The hunt for a break-and-enter suspect took police through and behind Hazelmere Country Club last week.

Police were alerted to the incident around 3:30 p.m. May 26, after a resident in the 300-block of 184 Street returned home to find a strange man inside.

"The male fled on foot when confronted by the homeowner," Cpl. Bert Paquet told Peace Arch News. "Indications from witnesses is that the male suspect fled northbound from the residence, apparently last seen through Hazelmere golf course."

Extensive patrols, including by a police dog team, failed to locate the perpetrator, Paquet said.

Paquet said forensic evidence that may help identify the culprit has been recovered from the targeted home.

Police are looking for a skinny 20-year-old Caucasian in connection with the crime. He was wearing a black ripped jacket, blue jeans, a black hat and white shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 604-599-0502.
