Surrey firefighters chat with the driver of a Dodge one-ton pick-up truck that was struck by a large tree that fell across King George Boulevard near 57 Avenue Friday morning.

The driver walked away without injury, but his truck and work tools were heavily damaged.

High winds knocked down trees and caused power outages throughout the Lower Mainland overnight.

Except for a remaining power outage in an area of Ladner, BC Hydro, power had been restored to all Surrey and Delta neighbourhoods by mid-morning.
