Surrey RCMP are reporting minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on 16 Avenue.

According to Cpl. Scotty Schumann, two dump trucks travelling in opposite directions just east of 192 Street sideswiped each other around 8 a.m.

The eastbound truck then swerved into the oncoming lane and hit a minivan, which sustained extensive damage.

"What I'm told from my officers on the scene is that it's amazing that there aren't more serious injuries," Schumann said.

Traffic was blocked in both directions for several hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

At Peace Arch News presstime Thursday morning, residents expressed concern that diesel leaked into the fish-bearing Little Campbell River.
