Arson is suspected in a fire that ripped through a rancher Thursday morning, while firefighters suspect a marijuana grow operation caused anther fire eight hours earlier.
On Wednesday, at about 9 p.m., Surrey firefighters were called to a blaze at a rancher near 128 Street and 113B Avenue.
No one was hurt, and fire crews believe it was started by a marijuana grow operation, which typically uses hot lamps and sketchy wiring.
Then at 5:40 a.m., crews were called to a blaze at another small rancher, this time in the 12100-block 76 Avenue.
No one was injured, however, fire crews suspect that the fire was caused by arson.
Both fires remain under investigation.
