Vancouver mother, son struck by car in South Surrey

Two-year-old boy suffered scratches and cuts to his face when he and his mom, aged 35, were hit by a Toyota Camry.

A Vancouver mother and son were fortunate to escape serious injury last week, when they were struck in the crosswalk at 16 Avenue and 128 Street in South Surrey.

According to a police report, the two-year-old boy suffered scratches and cuts to his face when he and his mom, aged 35, were hit by a Toyota Camry around 4:30 p.m. Jan. 31.

Police say weather conditions may have contributed to the crash, combined with the fact both pedestrians were wearing dark clothing.

A South Surrey senior was ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian.
