A South Surrey man is facing charges in connection with an evening break-in at an underground parkade Nov. 20 in White Rock.

Staff Sgt. Daryl Creighton said police received a report of a suspicious man in the 1500-block of Martin St. at around  10:15 p.m. last Sunday.

The individual was “attempting to gain access to an underground parking garage,” Creighton said.

“Police arrived in time to catch the male in the act.”

The next day, Emerson Bondar, 33, appeared in Surrey Provincial Court on charges of break-and-enter, possession of break-in instruments, breach of recognizance and breach of probation; the two latter charges relate to an incident in July and one as recent as Nov. 17, Creighton said.

Bondar is due back in court Nov. 28.
