Surrey RCMP are looking for witnesses or anyone with information on two vehicles involved in a shots-fired incident Saturday night.
Police say several people called 911 at about 7:20 p.m. April 11, after someone in a silver, four-door sedan that was northbound on 128 Street opened fire on a small red car near 60 Avenue.
Both vehicles were last seen heading north on 128 Street.
Officers who responded to the scene recovered shell casings from the roadway. Patrols of the area did not immediately locate the vehicles, however, a Nissan Altima was seized just before noon on Sunday in connection with the incident.
"The investigation continues in an effort to identify and local the individual(s) associated to the vehicle at the time of the shooting," Cpl. Bert Paquet told Peace Arch News by email.
The incident occurred the day after early morning shots were reported in the Royal Heights area of North Surrey. Officers responding to that shooting – around 5 a.m. April 10, in the 11700-block of 96 Avenue, also involving a silver-coloured vehicle – found evidence of shots being fired at a home in the area.
No injuries were reported, and police say no connection between the two has been established at this time.
Also Sunday, police were called to the 7000-block of 130 Street after a male was found with gunshot wounds. Details of that incident were not immediately available. It brings the number of shootings that have occurred in the city since early March to 15.
