2025 Property Tax Notices have been mailed and are due Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
A 5% penalty will be charged on the 2025 property taxes remaining unpaid after July 2, 2025, and a further 5% penalty will be charged after September 2, 2025.
All property owners are responsible for payment of property taxes and applicable penalties, regardless of whether a tax notice is received. If you have not received your tax notice, please contact Property & Payment Services at 604-591-4181 immediately.
New Owners: You are responsible for payment of the 2025 property taxes by the due date of July 2, 2025, to avoid penalty charges.
Home Owner Grant: If eligible, owners must apply for the home owner grant each year through the Province of BC at gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant or by calling 1-888-355-2700. A payment is not required to claim the home owner grant.
Property Tax Deferment Program: Eligibility information and applications are available online at gov.bc.ca/propertytaxdeferment. Owners should be aware of the items on their tax notice that cannot be deferred. Visit surrey.ca/ptu for more information.
Online Services: Sign up for e-billing at surrey.ca/mypropertyaccounts to receive notification of your next tax notice by email. This service allows you to view tax notices, utility billings and dog account information.
Payment Options:
- Pay your property taxes using online or telephone banking with your financial institution, or at your branch (allow 3 business days for your financial institution to process this payment)
- Pay in person by cheque, debit or cash:
o At City Hall, located at 13450 104 Ave, open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm
o At the Surrey Operations Centre at 6651 148 St, open Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:30pm, closed between 12:30pm to 1:00pm. Parking is limited at this location.
- Drop off property tax cheque payments at these drop box locations:
o Drop box on P1 parkade level at City Hall
o Drop box on the south side of City Hall (plaza area)
Note: Payments received in the drop boxes after midnight on the due date will be subject to applicable penalties.

Please note that there continues to be a potential for Canada Post labour disruptions.
If your intention is to mail your payment through Canada Post, it may not arrive prior to the due date. Please review the payment options on the back of your tax notice for alternative payment methods. Payments received by the City after the due date will incur a penalty.
