PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING: 15156 & 15158 Roper Avenue, August 8, 2024

The purpose of the meeting is to introduce a proposed zoning amendment application which, if approved,would remove the requirement that the retail component of the building must be contained within a single strata unit which includes residential use. In addition, the rezoning would discharge a covenant that requires the same. There will be no change to the Official Community Plan.

The meeting is in an open-house format. The applicant will provide an overview of the project and will be available to respond to comments and questions regarding their proposal. City staff will be in attendance to introduce the application and the proponent, respond to any policy, regulatory and process-related questions, in addition, to monitor the meeting and report back to Council on the feedback received. Volunteering is a great way for residents to get involved, provide input and expertise on important issues and make a positive contribution to our community. The City is currently accepting applications to fill vacancies on the following committee:

Accessibility Advisory Committee

The White Rock Accessibility Advisory Committee advises Council on improving accessibility to the City’s policies, programs, services, infrastructure, and outdoor spaces to increase livability, inclusivity and accessibility for person with disabilities.

Seven (7) members are sought for appointment until October 31, 2026.

Meeting dates for the Accessibility Advisory Committee have not yet been determined; however, they will be held on a quarterly basis (at least) on a weekday, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at City Hall in Council Chambers.

Complete applications are due by 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024

• Complete and submit the online application form at whiterockcity.ca/committees.

• All applications should include a resume and/or cover letter.

The information submitted will be considered by Council as part of the appointment process. The City of White Rock seeks to have diversity in the membership of the Advisory Committees, including age, gender, ethnicity, etc., which will be taken into consideration during the appointment process. Once the decisions have been made, all applicants will be contacted with respect to their submissions.
