CHIASSON, Allan Joseph (Guitar Al)

On Tuesday May 18 White Rock lost a long time icon - Guitar Al as he was affectionately know in the community could be found throughout the 80's, 90's and early 2000's on any given day playing and singing in front of the local liquor store from his wide repertoire of songs - everything from Tom Paxton folk ballads (his favourite) to rock and roll, blue grass to Mississippi Delta Blues in his memorable finger-pickin' style. Troubadour, gifted storyteller and faithful friend to many, he is survived by his daughters Elaina, Katie, Maddy, Molly, Ruthie and Maria, his mother Joan, brother John, sisters Louise, Mary and Marjorie, thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was born in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia but made White Rock his home for the last thirty years. Daddy - you will be missed for your free spirit and desire to make others happy through your music. You were a kind and gentle soul, a loving Dad and the best friend anyone could ask for. Miss you so much Daddy. Xoxoxoxox Love you up to the sky!

A Memorial service will be held at the White Rock Community Center on Russell Ave, Monday May 31st at 3pm, with a gathering afterwards at "the tree"
