RUDOSKY, ALVINA (WINNIE) ELIZABETH

NOV. 15, 1924 - FEB. 5, 2012. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Winnie after a courageous fight with Alzheimer disease. Predeceased by her husband Henry (Hank) and daughter Wendy, she is survived by her son Ross, daughter-in-law Rosa, grandchildren Zsolt and Rita, great grandchildren Adam and Daniel. Winnie was born in Grayson, Saskatchewan and moved to Vancouver with the family, when she was a child. Winnie married Hank on Dec.1, 1950 and moved onto a homestead at Forest Grove, B.C. There they ranched, logged and lived a "pioneer" life until 1964, when electricity was finally brought to the homestead. After Hank passed away in 1990, Winnie moved back to Vancouver, to be with family and later to Caroline (Alberta) to be with her daughter Wendy. After the sudden passing of Wendy, her memory loss increased and she moved to White Rock to be with her family. Special thanks are given to the staff at Weatherby Pavilion in White Rock, Peace Arch Hospital for their care, attention and generosity. Thanks to Grace, her companion, who filled in when the family could not be there. We are eternally grateful. At Winnie's request there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
