March 24, 1936 - May 14, 2025
Passed away May14, 2025, in South Surrey, BC.
Born March 24, 1936, in Great Bentley, Essex, England of Norwegian-English parents. As a young girl, she survived the bombing raids in outer London. Her mother, Petra, died in her late thirties of cancer, and Ann lived many of her early years with her aunt Anna. She attended schools in England, Scotland and Norway. Most of her twenties were spent very happily employed in the Oxford area, before emigrating in 1963 to Vancouver. Tops in her class in secretarial skills, Ann worked one year with Empire Shipping (where she met her soon-to-be husband, Ted), followed by 31years with CP Rail as private secretary to several consecutive regional managers/VP's, two of whom went on to become President of CP Rail. Ann and Ted loved seeing new places, and travelled extensively through their 60 wonderful years together.
Ann started getting Alzheimer's disease in 2016, and was officially diagnosed during mid stage in late 2020. She put up a good fight, but the last two years were particularly difficult. Complications from the Alzheimer's plus other conditions got the best of her during May, and she died peacefully in her sleep at Suncrest Retirement Community- many thanks to the kind staff in the Complex Care unit. Survived by her loving husband Ted (Arthur Edward), her nieces Lesli and Amanda, nephews David and Greg, brother-in-law Michael, and their extended families.
Together Forever. Miss you so much. All my love, Ted.
