September 29, 1946 - October 25, 2024
Ann Margaret Paul, beloved wife, mother, Nana, sister, mentor and friend, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Friday, October 25th, 2024 at the age of 78 after battling colon cancer since her diagnosis in May of this year. Family were present at Ann's bedside as she was moved by God to her "new address" in heaven.
Ann is survived by her husband Earle (Bob) Paul, to whom she was married for 56 years; her sons Elbert (Amy) and their children Addie, Brennan and Ella, and Jason (Buffy) and their children Eli, Leo and Ada who will forever treasure the memories of their time with their Nana. Ann is also survived by her sister Mary Villers (Jon) of Fredericton NB.
Born in Moncton NB, Ann also grew up in Halifax NS and Oromocto NB. After graduating from Oromocto Secondary School, Ann went to UNB Teachers' College in Fredericton NB where she obtained a Teaching License in Home Economics that she used to pursue her love of cooking, hospitality and teaching. From 1993 to 2006, she worked as a Classroom Assistant in the ESL and Home Economic Departments at Palmer Secondary School in Richmond.
During her early years, Ann was a shy child who sought the God of the Bible to help her in her times of need while developing a growing faith. Ann sought refuge by making a prayer closet in her bedroom at the age of nine where she first began to trust and lean into God for His love and comfort. As Ann's faith grew through the working of God's Spirit in her life, her introverted nature was transformed to become an outspoken and courageous follower of Jesus.
She served her local church faithfully in discipleship, evangelism and women's ministries while also speaking for the Christian Women's Club of BC, sharing the good news of the gospel and eternal life in Christ. Ann viewed herself as a very ordinary person who belonged to and could trust her extraordinary God in life's challenges.
Ann was a prayer warrior and an essential part of the Core Launch Team for Village Church in 2009 as she started and led the church Prayer Ministry and participated in the church's recently established Restoration Prayer Ministry.
Her deep connection and her faithfulness to God was rooted in her love of Scripture, prayer and people. As a result of a godly life well lived, Ann leaves a legacy of faith, prayer and a love for the gospel that touched many lives. She will be deeply missed, but her love for God and others will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
A memorial service to celebrate Ann's life will be held at South Delta Baptist Church on November 23rd at 11am. Donations may be made in Ann's memory to Village Church, 14928 - 56th Avenue, 2nd Floor, Surrey BC V3S 2N5.
