Anna Bernice (nee McLean) born December 22, 1910 in Virden, Manitoba, died peacefully at home in the arms of her daughter and son-in-law on August 8, 2003. Predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Cec, and her sisters Mil and Nina and her brother Charlie.
Bernice leaves to mourn her children; David (Marji) of Nanaimo, Mavis King (Rich) of Calgary, Catherine McGannon (Bob) of South Surrey and Jamie of Calgary, her elder sisters Marian Curle and Edna Murray of Redvers, Sask, her brother Bill of Summerland, B.C. and her brother-in-law; Don Whiteford of Elkhorn, Manitoba, plus her grandchildren; Lara King, Shannon Nelson, Dave Munro, Chris Munro, Tim Munro, Jamie McGannon, Mike McGannon and numerous nephews and nieces.
Our thanks to Dr. McCombie and Dr. Gayton, the nurses of the Fraser Valley Health Region, and the homecare workers of West Coast Health that allowed her to remain at home with her family. Her ready wit and her passion for the CFL and NHL delighted all who knew her.
Good-bye Mom, we miss you. By her request, her family will hold a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Peace Arch Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
