Passed away peacefully at aged 90 on January 14, 2022.
Born October 14, 1931 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she moved to BC to complete high school and worked at St Vincent Hospital, as a ward-aid. Barb went on to earn her LPN and worked in the Psychiatric Unit at Woodlands Hospital.
She wed Wesley Bertram Hodson in 1971. She worked in Extended Care, the Activity Department and Palliative Care at Peace Arch Hospital before retiring in 1996. Barb volunteered in Stroke Recovery but her passion was golf which she played well and served on the Executive for the District 5 Golf Association. Barb was honoured in 2009 as 'Outstanding Volunteer' as selected by her peers for her support of golf in the South Surrey community.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband Wesley (1923-2009), her only child Lorraine Ann Stuart Marshall (1951-2017), her sister Georgia Kathleen Robinson Lake and her first husband Donald Stuart.
SURVIVING her will be her grand daughters Haley Spencer and Casey Spencer and great grandchildren: Preston & Kyrian Spencer- Douglas, Ellieanna Cadotte (Haley), Devin Bayly, Grantley & Chase Wilhelm (Casey).
SURVIVED also by her 10 step children: Mike, Rex, Terry, Pam, Jo-Anne, Peter, Gord, Jeff, Greg, & Ed and spouses, as well as 19 step-grand children and 30 step-great grandchildren.
Barbara will be interred with her golf partner in life and the hereafter, Wes Hodson at Victory Memorial Park.
