It is with great sadness that we announce Barbara's peaceful passing on April 23, 2023, at Selkirk Hospital, Manitoba.
Barbara (Barbie) is survived by and will be lovingly remember by her husband of 29 years Clarence, daughter Danielle, sons Michael and Christopher, stepdaughter Melissa and soon to be son-in-law Brayden Dykun. Her mother Evelyn (Surrey), brother Bill Macklem (Kathy) (White Rock), sister Sharon Read (Gary) (Abbotsford).
She was predeceased by her father Percival Macklem and brother Murray Macklem. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Barb was born in Winnipeg, the chosen child of Evelyn and Percival Macklem. She worked for Pioneer Grain before starting her family. Barbara went to Varennes School in St Vital and graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate.
She was a kind loving soul who touched the hearts of all people she encountered. She loved all with no prejudice. Barbara loved her children, and they were the pride and joy of her life. She was a devoted, loving wife to Clarence, whose love was endless.
Barbara loved her cats Bailey, Avery and Phat. She will be happily reunited with Boots, Cuddles, Sparkles, Zena, Timmy, and Cherry. Bailey will need a new kneading partner.
Barbara loved travelling in their R.V., boating and fishing, a master angler holder who proudly claimed she could out fish Clarence 2 to 1. She loved garage sales, and her collectibles. She was known as the Garagesale Diva. She loved collecting Precious Moments Figurines, which her life was all about having precious moments.
Her daughter Danielle states, she was always the life of the party, and often joined her daughters' crazy shenanigans with her friends. She made everybody her friend, no matter where she went.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
