It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Betty Erma Mason of Surrey, BC on May 7, 2016 at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer. Betty had many joys in life, the most precious of all was her family. An avid cook, Betty shared countless laughs and memories over dinners hosted for friends and family. Betty enjoyed extensive travelling adventures, from horseback riding through the Rocky Mountains to cruising all around the world. She had a passion for the ocean and cherished her times spent sailing on her brother's sailboat and exploring the beautiful British Columbia coast with George in their cabin cruiser. Closer to home, Betty was often found experimenting with new recipes, playing bridge with her dear friends or gardening in her beloved park-like backyard. Betty will be sadly missed by her spouse George McCormack of Surrey, BC; her son Scott Mason, his wife Lynn and their children Chantal and Nowell of Ottawa, Ontario; her daughter Patricia Mason, her husband Jim and her children Troi, Rory and Ian of Beausejour, Manitoba; her daughter Kerri Redding, her husband Stephen and their child Alyse of Surrey, BC; her siblings Eric Heiman, Erven Heiman and Dorine Hochman and their spouses; and other family and friends. Betty was predeceased by her parents Julius and Olga Heiman and her first husband Garth Mason. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 27th at 10:30am, at Beecher Place of 12160 Beecher Street in
Crescent Beach, South Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society.
