With deep sadness we announce the passing of Boris Dziubenko. Boris is survived by wife Susan, daughters Larissa (Iain) and Alexa, sisters Oksana (Norm) and Martha (Dennis), nieces Sarah and Andrea, and nephew Davis. He also leaves extended family and friends in the Lower Mainland and Nova Scotia. Predeceased by parents Vasily and Olena.
Born in Vancouver, Boris attended Killarney Secondary and studied trumpet at Douglas College before obtaining his engineering degree at UBC.
Boris was passionate about music his whole life. He played trumpet and loved jazz. He joined various community bands and orchestras in Portland, OR and White Rock over the years, and in his youth served in the Canadian Forces Militia Army Band. He was also an avid cyclist, skilled woodworker and collector of trumpets.
Boris was a talented, smart, generous man with a wonderful sense of humour. He will be missed.
