Bruce Douglas

Passed away peacefully on March 18, 2005 in The Special Care Unit of the Delta View Habilitation Centre, Delta BC.

He was born February 15, 1941 in Comox, BC and spent his childhood years in Courtney.

The second eldest son of the late Gordon Douglas and wife Irene.

Bruce is lovingly remembered and is survived by his wife Lynne (Whitmore) Douglas, daughters Nicole Douglas of Qualicum and Shauna Douglas of Coquitlam BC and grandson Nathan Douglas.

By other family members; mother Irene, brothers Bob, Tom (Bettylou), Ted (Liz) and sister Heather (Tim), along with many nieces and nephews.

Bruce had a 35 year career starting in 1961 with Canada Safeway, managing stores in Courtney, Port Alberni, Nanaimo, Campbell River and Richmond BC.

Sadly, in 1995 at the age of 54 he was forced to leave the business world to live with the debilitating and terminal disease of Alzheimers, that finally took his life.

He will be sadly missed by all his many friends and business acquaintances.

A special thank you to the dedicated staff at Delta View Habilitation Centre for loving care given to Bruce in his last 3 1/2 years.
