GLOVER, Catherine Muriel

April 11, 1925 - December 20, 2016

Catherine Muriel Glover passed away at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC. on December 20, 2016. Nancy was by her side and Mum died peacefully.

She was born on April 11, 1925 in Toronto, Ontario where she lived and worked. She was married to Dad (Jim) on September 16, 1950 (The day after payday, as Dad would say). They moved to Montreal in 1952 and lived there until 1978 when they moved back to Toronto. In 1997, they moved to BC where they spent the rest of their days. Although Mum was not able to appreciate it due to her illness, their last wedding anniversary was their 65th, 5 weeks before Dad passed away.

Alan, Bob, Bruce and Nancy will miss her, as will her grandchildren Jess, Kirsten, Jack, Patrick, Ellen, Ben, Natalie and Zoe. Finn, a great grandchild she never met, will know about her in the coming years. Wendy, Jane and Marlyn, her daughters-in-law, will remember and miss her as well.

Our mother was fond of people and enjoyed many activities of the social variety. Curling, tennis and skiing as well as travel, church, volunteering and even public speaking.

She had a vivacious and outgoing personality that perfectly complimented Dad's fun-loving yet decidedly more muted approach. They were perfect for each other and I think their greatest gift to us was their obvious love for and devotion to each other and their children. She was generous and kind and always on hand for support, counsel and understanding. She loved clowns.

Mom was predeceased by her parents Jessie and Jim, her brother Bruce and her sister Shirl.

We will have a celebration of her life sometime in the future, perhaps her birthday.

A memorial page will be set up on the funeral home's website (www.dignitymemorial.ca) where one can leave any condolences or memories.

We will also update the celebration plans there.
