It is with great sorrow that the family of Catherine McFarlane announces her passing on June 27, 2021. Beginning her 40 year career as a nurse at Red River College she spent her lifetime serving communities in Manitoba, Calgary and British Columbia. Eventually settling down in South Surrey, BC she worked at Peace Arch Hospital for 25 of those years. Throughout her five-year battle with cancer, she maintained the same positive, cheerful, and stubborn attitude that she was known for. She always had a smile and witty comment for anyone she spoke with. Survived by her husband Norman, daughter Sydney, brother Bruce and many loving friends she will be greatly missed by all.
Her ashes will be laid to rest at a private family gathering. In lieu of flowers to the family donations to the Peace Arch Foundations Lodge are welcomed. A big thank you to the Melville Hospice Home for making her final days as comfortable as possible.
