SKINNER, Charles. It is with love and sadness that we announce that Charles Skinner Sr. passed away peacefully July 17, 2011, at the tender age of 91. Eternally loved by his wife Noreen Dunbar, his nine children: Michael Avery (Marilyn), Ann Lamondin (Bruce), Michael Skinner (Judy), Charles Turner (Denice), Charlaine Skinner (Gerry), Charles Skinner Jr. (Janice), John Skinner (Virginia), Bonnie Lee Proulx (Rene), Ashton Borg (Wes), and step children Randy Lavoie (Judy), Sandra Lavoie (Michael), Marcy Lavoie Victor). He also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 4 step grandchildren. Charlie hailed from a family of United Empire Loyalists and was a WWII veteran who served 5 years in Europe. His intellect, talents and generosity knew no bounds. Charlie enjoyed many years working as a conveyor belt technician in Ontario and BC. He was also a stained glass artist, painter, sailboat captain, wood carver, and most recently a founding member of the Hazelmere Heritage Fiddlers. Charles was one of the rare individuals that fully appreciated life and made full use of every waking moment. His legacy will live on in every person's life that he touched.

A celebration of his life will be held on Aug. 12, Crescent United Church, 2756-127 St. at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Surrey Food Bank Society would be appreciated.
