May 5, 1951 - August 26, 2023
On August 26th, 2023 Christopher Magnus of Crescent Beach, BC passed away at age 72 with his family by his side after suffering an unexpected ruptured abdominal aortic aneurysm.
Christopher Victor Magnus was born May 5, 1951 in Trenton Ontario to Madeleine Magnus (nee Ernest) and Ernest Magnus. After graduation from Trinity College School in 1969, Chris travelled the world and tried out a variety of gigs subsequently studying at York University.
He joined Air Canada in 1976 and his base assignments included Montreal, Halifax, Calgary and Toronto. He moved his family to the West Coast in 1985 and settled into his beloved community of Crescent Beach.
Chris' kind heart, selfless generosity, unique eccentricities and persona touched many lives during his 27 year career as an Air Canada Flight Attendant/In-Charge Purser and in later years working at the Blue Frog Studios, and his community throughout Crescent Beach and White Rock, about which he cared for deeply.
His love for baseball, running, language, music, comedy and the CBC Radio will live on with his friends and family.
Chris' passing is mourned by his life partner & friend Diane Kolida, their son, Cameron, daughter in law, Amber, his grandchildren, Ella and Beckett. Also grieving his loss; his brother, Peter, his niece and nephew, Alexander and Maria, their mother, Olga Lukashenko, and niece and nephew, Tanya Alcock and Andrew Magnus, their mother, Anke Magnus.
Chris' family express sincere thanks to the ICU medical team at The Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster for the extraordinary devotion and commitment to Chris for 32 days.
A Celebration of Chris' Life will take place at Camp Alexandra in Crescent Beach on Sunday, September 17th from 2pm-5pm.
