KING; Cleo B.

September 1, 1915 - March 30, 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of a wonderful mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and dear friend. Cleo King, nee Westrum, was born on the farm near Briercrest, Saskatchewan on September 1, 1915. She was a very special lady who had many talents, a great sense of style, and a true joy for life, having lived to be one hundred years old. Mom is lovingly remembered by her two sons and daughters-in-law; Jim and Arlah, Doug and Pat, her grandchildren; Erinn, Dave, Matt and Brooke, also several nieces and nephews, as well as many friends. Cleo was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon; brothers Helmer, Leonard and Marvin; and sister Helen.

Mom and Dad lived on James Island before moving to Vancouver in 1946. In 1964, they were transferred to Montreal and returned back to Burnaby in the mid 1970's when Dad retired. After Dad's passing in 1987, Cleo lived in White Rock until 2013. Her final years were spent in Calgary at the Wentworth Manor where she passed away in her sleep. It was a true story book ending to a great life. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 1:00 pm at West Burnaby United Church,

6050 Sussex Ave. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations, if so desired, to the charity of your choice.
