CAMPBELL

Colin George

July 22, 1933 ~ August 31, 2008

We will miss a kind, loving man with a beautiful smile. He died after a courageous battle with complications after his heart attack on June 2, 2008. Colin was born in Vancouver, was educated and grew up in IOCO, Port Moody, where his Dad ran the company butcher shop. He joined Pacific Press in 1962 in dispatch and then earned his apprentice as a typo- grapher working in the composing room of both the Sun and Province newspapers until retirement in 1998. Predeceased by his parents Colin Cyril Campbell and Sarah Anne Vipond. He is survived by his beloved wife Muriel and her children Michelle (Paul) Murray of Aldergrove, BC, Sylvia (Doug) Finlay of Guelph, ON. Grandchildren Dan, Andrea and Chantel of Aldergrove, BC and Daryl, Elona and Janine of Guelph, ON. His God-daughter and family Carole (Larry) Singh, Tyler and Alisha. Sister-in-law Donna (Bill) Herman, sister-in-law Debra (Kevin) Ford, brother-in-law John (Pat) Stewart and their families. He was an honourable man with a quirky sense of humour. He was happiest before arthritis took away his mobility trekking through the back-country of BC and in his younger years was an award winning swimmer. He was a long time member and supporter of B.C Wildlife Federation. He will also be missed by his uncle George Nickey, Esther Bisson, cousins Inez Labrum, Gay (Hans) Weber, Estelle (Gordon) Clarke, Mary Campbell, Thelma Burton, Jean (Emery) Ramsey, Merle Proteau, by his buddies at the club, many good friends and his wonderful neighbors at Seawynd. Thank you to the staff of ICU and Palliative Care at VGH for their compassion. Dr. C.T. Gibson for his friendship over the years and the Chaplains of VGH and Clergy of St. Dunstan's for their support through this difficult time. Memorial Service will be held at St. Dunstan's Anglican Church, 3025 264th St., Aldergrove, BC V4W 2W4, 604-856-5393 on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at 2:30 p.m., officiated by Rev. Paul Guiton, Rector of St. Dunstan's Cremation service by Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 604-536-6522. In lieu of flowers a donation to B.C. Wildlife Federation #101 - 3060 Norland Ave., Burnaby, BC V5B 3A6 or St. Dunstan's Building Fund would be appreciated. He lived every day to the fullest and will always be remembered with love.
