HOEKSTRA, Cornelis (Kees)
Passed away peacefully at Peace Arch District Hospital on Thursday January 8, 2009 at the age of 74 years. Born in Idzard, Holland on September 22, 1934.
Lovingly remembered by his partner Martje Hartman, his two daughters Monique Isherwood and Kathleen Christensen, his son-in-law Kim Christensen, his granddaughter Chelsea Isherwood, his sister Fietje in Holland and many other relatives throughout Holland and Canada. Kees was an avid singer and performed with the Kent Street Choristers for many years. Kees also enjoyed sailing and was a skipper with the White Rock Yacht Club. Kees was an elementary school teacher who taught at various schools throughout the Lower Mainland until he retired several years ago.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Church at 15385 – Semiahmoo Avenue, White Rock, B.C. on Friday January 16 at 2:00 p.m.
Reception to take place at the Church downstairs following the service.
Flowers gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Society.
