SMITH, Daphne Joan, 90, passed away peacefully at the Lodge at Broadmead, Victoria, B.C. on March 9, 2009.
Born in Merritt, B.C. April 11, 1918. Daphne served with the RCN WRENS from 1943-45; then obtaining her Bachelor of Home Economics and Masters in Public Health, worked as a Dietician for the Dept. of Health, City of Vancouver for 25 years. She also became an active member of the Naturalists Society which created a new passion – birdwatching.
Her love of travel took her worldwide, enjoying countless adventures with her many friends.
Her devotion and generosity to her family was overwhelming and we will miss her beyond words.
She leaves behind her brother Don (Shirley) Smith, nephew Randy, niece Colleen (Stu) Frampton, great-nephews Brad, Aaryn, Devin and great-niece Emily. “Daphne, you will always be in our hearts”.
