In Loving Memory ~
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of David William Dauphinee, born on September 16, 1941, in Chatham, Ontario, following a courageous two-year battle with cancer. He departed this world peacefully on Friday, October 20, surrounded by the love and presence of his devoted children, son Mark and daughter, Lara.
Dave's career took him on a journey across Canada, from Toronto to Owen Sound, Sudbury, and Ottawa before he finally planted his roots with his son in White Rock, British Columbia in 1982. A dedicated professional in banking and real estate, he later in life started his own company, Express Home Appraisal.
Dave was a community man in White Rock, where he, for a time, owned the White Rock Whalers hockey team. He and his son, Mark, shared a passion for the rink, forging a bond through their love for the game.
Dave approached everything in life with meticulous attention to detail and took pleasure in immersing himself in a world of knowledge. He enjoyed reading about current events, delving into world history, and watching nature documentaries. He was a proud man, with a quiet sense of love for his two children and contentment for the life he had built.
Dave's true love lay in the serenity of the Pacific Coast waters aboard his sailboat, where he felt most at home. For nine years, he served as the White Rock Harbour Master, a role that allowed him to connect with his passion for the ocean and the bustling life around the pier.
He found immeasurable joy watching his grandson, Ryan, play baseball and embraced the company of friends, always ready to share a story or a laugh with his close buddies.
Dave leaves behind a legacy of friendships and memories. He is survived by his sister, Penny Dauphinee Thomas, his daughter, Lara (Uri), his son, Mark (Nicole), and his grandchildren Ryan, Jason, and Meagan.
Dave will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of being a part of his life's journey.
May he rest in peace, forever sailing on tranquil waters.
"We will miss you, Dad."
(In accordance with Dave's wishes, no funeral service will be held)
