JUDD, Derek

February 7, 1928 - December 11, 2015

With deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Derek, who died peacefully at home during an afternoon nap, after a gentle day that included his morning swim. No matter the challenges, he lived life with a smile, a generous heart, and a song on his lips.

Dad will be forever missed and remembered by his wife, Sandra Gail, his sons Gary and Derek, and step-son Michael; daughters Jacquie, Terri, April, Tina, and all their spouses. Many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren are also mourning the loss of their Granddad.

Derek was born in London, England; served in the British Army in Palestine, and immigrated to Canada in 1954. As a devoted husband and father, his work covered many fields, as a young man loading asbestos on ships in Burrard Inlet, to becoming regional sales director of MacDonald Supply.

In his retirement, he drove a school bus for Star of the Sea schools.

The humour, kindness, and gift of Derek's songs will never leave us.

A family celebration of life is planned.
