Dianne "Sissy" Swansburg

February 8, 1956 - February 15, 2020
Linda Dianne Gale Swansburg (Dewinetz) known as Sissy to her family, lived a full and earnest life in her 64 years on our earth. She was born on February 8th, 1956 and passed away February 15th 2020 at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC. Dianne was known by all as undeniably loving, intelligent and loyal. Dianne had the remarkable ability to see those who needed to be seen and fiercely love those who needed to be cared for. To know her was to love her and be loved by her.
As the youngest sibling of ten children, Sissy was the generational bridge between her own siblings and her nieces and nephews. She was the pillar, organizer, leader and confidant of her family. She was predeceased by her father John, her mother Violet, her brothers Kenny, Gordie, Melvin and Dave. As a professional, Dianne spent 35 years working in different capacities as a social worker and advocate for children in need for the Province of BC. Through her career she made decisions with inestimable integrity, empathy and genuine love for the kids and adults she worked with.
In her immediate family, Dianne leaves behind her soulmate and husband David, her son Kenny, her daughter Abby and son-in-law Ben. As a wife and Mother, Dianne was a dedicated endlessly loving, understanding and attentive. For all who knew her, our challenge and her legacy will be to continue living and loving the way she taught us how.
On Saturday February 29th, 2020 join us at Star of the Sea Hall at 12:00pm. There will be a reception immediately following where we invite you to have a snack, share a story and hug each other close.
