Passed on peacefully on March 17, (St. Patricks Day) 2007.
Born May 19, 1921, in McAuley, Manitoba.
The second youngest son of Reverand Walter & Synthia Ward, he was predeceased by his brothers, Jack, Jim, Dick and sister, Muriel.
He is survived by his only remaining sibling, Dorothy McEachren, 93 of Creston, B.C.
His memory will be honored by his three children - Barry (Myrna), Maureen and Kirk (Lucille) - his six grandchildren - Karyn, Tonya, Debby, Jamie, Steven and Lindsay - and his three great-grandchildren - Mason, Cory and Megan.
There will be no service, as by his request.
A special mention of appreciation to the staff and residents of Concord by the Sea, and the third floor residents and staff of Weatherby Pavilion for their care and comfort of Don in his final months.
He was happiest when waltzing with a beautiful woman in his arms, to the sounds of big band orchestra.
He may have veiled his sensitivity with his recently adopted phrase "whatever" but he had a big heart, liked a laugh and was a hard-worker all his life.
He will be sorely missed.
