Mar 21, 1932 – May 29, 2018
Our beloved G.G. (great grandma) slipped away peacefully after complications from a sudden fall on May 14th. She was 86 years young and lived every day with love and laughter with all those lucky enough to cross her path.
She adored soccer games, Bowling and time with her 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and was looking forward to welcoming 2 twin girls in August.
Doreen was an only child born to Harry and Phyllis Boyer in Leicester, England. Predeceased by her husband Roy, together they had 6 children Pam (Perfections Hair), Martin (Jane), Jane, Wendy, Julie (Darcy) & Denise.
Their biggest adventure together was emigrating to Canada in 1965 when Doreen travelled from Liverpool to Montreal by ship with 6 children alone and then travelled by train across Canada to Edmonton to meet up with Roy. In 1984 They made the move to the Lower Mainland to permanently settle here. Doreen always said that life was an adventure.
Sincere thanks to the Doctors who cared for her and the wonderful nursing staff (especially Rachelle on the Hospice Ward).
Please join us in Celebrating Doreen’s Life at 2620 127A St., Ocean Park 2-5 pm, Sunday, June 17th.
In lieu of flowers – please consider a donation to the Hospice Ward at Peace Arch Hospital in Doreen’s Name.
