Bentley, Dorothy Elizabeth. Born July 13, 1921 in Victoria, BC, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Oceanview Care Home in White Rock. Predeceased by Morry in 1995, her beloved husband of 50 years. Survived by brother Reg Reid (Iris), and by three children and their spouses: Sue (Bob), Bob (Angilyn), Rick (Eileen); six grandchildren and their spouses: Steve (Courtney), Doug (Erin), Josh (Melissa), Luke (Sharon), Joel (Lauren), Joanna (Andrew); and two great-grandchildren: Keanna, Tevin. Dorothy and her family moved to White Rock in 1930 when her father, Clifford Reid, became the Officer-in-Charge of the Douglas Border Crossing. She attended elementary school in White Rock, and later, Blaine High School. She completed R.N. training at Vancouver General Hospital. At the conclusion of WW II, Dorothy and Morry lived in Victoria, Summerside, PEI and Winnipeg, Manitoba before returning to White Rock to settle in 1955. She returned to nursing after the children were grown, providing care for the elderly, first at the Icelandic Old Folks Home in Blaine, Wa., and later at Surrey Memorial Hospital Extended Care. She will be remembered affectionately for her warm smile and generous heart.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 8th at St. John's Presbyterian Church, 1480 George Street in White Rock.
