Dorothy Louise McConnell (nee Elgar) passed peacefully on Thursday, December 7th, 2017 at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, BC.

Dorothy, (A.K.A "Nanny" or "Dot") was born July 9th, 1924 in Fellsburg Pennsylvania.

Although she resided in Canada most of her life, she never failed to hum the American National Anthem on a daily basis. She was the epitome of class, never losing sight of who she was. She lived during times of The Great Depression, World War II, the Vietnam War, the building AND tearing down of the Berlin Wall, and countless inventions such as TV, Computers, Internet and Cell Phones (which she wouldn't dare touch).

Her 93+ years of life were fruitful and inspiring to us all, to say the very least. Predeceased by her husband Bill, her daughter Carol and her sister Thelma, she is survived by her sister Shirley, brother Herb, three sons, Larry, Ron and Brad and their spouses, her 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Anyone who knew Dorothy would describe her as: Amazing, Funny, Beautiful, Independent, Tough as Nails, Stubborn, but most of all, Loving.

She was the best Mother and grandmother a child could ever ask for and will be missed dearly forever.

Her family could not be more appreciative of the care and attentiveness of the Kidney Care Foundation in White Rock, so we ask that in lieu of flowers please send them a donation: http://www.bcrenalagency.ca/donate
