May 10, 1931 - Feb 21, 2018
Our Uncle Doug passed away unexpectedly, on February 21, 2018 at Peace Arch Hospital.

Doug was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his brothers Don, Bill, and John, and his sister, Bette (Thorsteinson).

He leaves behind his nephews Kelly, David and Kenny, and his nieces Cindy (Thorsteinson), Bonnie, and Cathie. Born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan, Doug grew up in Langley, B.C., graduating from Langley High School in 1947.

Doug was a salesman most of his life, traveling the province selling hardware for Ashdown Hardware and Marshall Wells. He also worked locally for Chimo's and IRLY BIRD lumber. Toward the end of his working career, Doug dabbled in construction, and considered himself a carpenter.

His retirement years were spent at Sunnyside Villas in South Surrey, where he met and enjoyed the company of various friends. While he pretty much ignored his immediate family for many years, we will remember Uncle Doug fondly as a unique individual.

We will miss him.
